BetOnline Bonuses
BetOnline was launched in 2001 as a sportsbook called BestLineSports. These days, BetOnline is still doing business with American customers, even after much of their bookmaker competition left the US market in the mid-2000s. At its launch, BetOnline was known for offering a discounted -108 line to its sports betting customers.
Unfortunately, that practice fell by the wayside, though you can still find reduced juice offers from time to time on their promotions page.
BetOnline is headquartered in and holds a gaming license from the government of Panama. BetOnline is open to a global market, unlike other sites that accept American sports bets. Evidence of that can be found in the long list of over a dozen world languages they use for customer service and site software. True, the US dollar is the only accepted currency, but the site offers currency conversion services for deposits.
Here are details on BetOnline’s promotional offers. It’s an impressive list, including classics like welcome and reload bonuses and game- and sport-specific offers and bonuses designed to entice customers to try new ways of wagering.
Welcome Bonuses
The site offers three welcome bonuses – one aimed at sports bettors, one for casino gamblers, and one for poker players.
First-time depositors interested in sports betting are eligible for a particular deposit match offer just for signing up for an account. If you deposit via a Book-to-book transfer or a payment from an eWallet, you won’t be able to use this offer. eWallet depositors are sometimes given a special offer, but book-to-book transfers are not. The offer is a 50% deposit match maxed out at $1,000. This bonus carries a 10x rollover requirement, which is about double the requirements at other big sportsbooks. Not cool, BetOnline.
The site’s 100% Slots Match bonus is good for more than just slot play – as far as I can tell, it’s a weird name for BetOnline’s casino welcome bonus. If you deposit at least $100 to the site as a new member (and you intend to play slots and other casino games), you’re eligible for a 100% deposit match maxed out at $1,000. This bonus requires a 50x rollover before all the bonus cash is released, which is (again) really high, even for a casino games bonus.
Poker-playing customers making their first deposit are also eligible for a welcome bonus. If you deposit at least $50 and you intend to play poker, you can earn up to $1,000 at a match rate of 200%. You have 120 days to clear as much of that bonus as possible. The release is based on a loyalty system – basically, you should play as much poker as you can in your first four months of membership to get as big a bonus as you deserve.
Reload Bonus
Casino gamblers are the only customers currently offered any reload bonus. The offer is good for a 25% deposit match up to $1,000. You have to deposit at least $25 to be eligible, and only wagers on casino games (with a small list of exceptions) count towards the lofty 50x rollover requirement.
A casino rebate program is also available. If you’re a site member who’s made at least one withdrawal before and you lose $100 or more in a week at the casino, the site will pay you a 10% rebate. You have to email customer service and follow their instructions, but that’s a small price to pay. Rebates are standard in sportsbooks and racebooks, but I can count how many times I’ve seen a casino rebate offer like this one.
Racebook Bonuses
The site’s Track Rebates bonus is aimed at racebook customers, often overlooked by promotional programs. This is a really cool bonus – Web bettors earn a 7% rebate on all daily losses, and phone racebook customers earn a 4% rebate. The cool part is that there’s no minimum or maximum imposed.
BetOnline is also offering all their customers a $25 Risk-Free Bet in the racebook to entice them to try horse race betting. It works like this – go to the racebook and make a $25 bet. If you win – congratulations, the money’s yours to keep. If you lose, BetOnline will reimburse you $25. A 6x rollover is in place, a few points higher than other Risk-Free Bet offers I’ve seen at US-facing racebooks.
High-Roller Bonus
You’ll automatically earn the site’s High Roller Bonus if you’re lucky enough to have $75,000 or more in your BetOnline account. It works on a tier system – the more in your account, the larger your bonus. The prizes range from $50 to $1,000, and they all carry the site’s seemingly standard 50x rollover requirement.
Mobile & Live Betting Bonuses
Like how BetOnline incentivizes a test run of their racebook, they want customers to try out their relatively new mobile and live betting (also live dealer casino) games and markets. If you have never played via mobile or placed a bet on a live game or live dealer casino title, BetOnline is offering you $25 in free play bonuses to test them out. Of course this offer comes with some caveats – a 6x rollover requirement on all bonuses is in place, and certain games and wagers are restricted from clearing your free cash.
50% Kickoff Welcome Bonus
BetOnline likes to tailor its sportsbook welcome bonuses to whatever major sports season is about to start. During my last visit, they prepared for the NFL season by offering a 50% first deposit match bonus worth up to $1,000. The minimum deposit amount is $50, and if you want to be eligible for this bonus, you can’t deposit via Neteller, Skrill, or Book-to-Book. A 10x deposit-plus-bonus rollover requirement is in place.
$25 Free Play for Live Betting
BetOnline will refund your first wager to incentivize customers to try out their Live Betting service, but there are some conditions. Your first bet must be for $25 or more, and there’s a 6x rollover requirement before the funds are added to your account. Wager refunds are limited to $25, though you can bet more if you’d like.
$50 Free Play for Mobile Betting
BetOnline makes the same offer to new mobile customers that they make to new Live Betting customers, except better. They’ll reimburse you up to $50 on your first mobile sports bet; if you win, congratulations. If you lose, you get $50 added to your bonus account. Design & Interface
BetOnline follows the standard design features of online sports betting services, with markets listed in a large column on the left-hand side of the page. The center of the page contains further details on the sport or market you select in the left-hand column. This section defaults to Live Betting and promotional coverage if you don’t select a market from the left.
I’m not in love with the design of the bet slip. It’s a two-step process, for the most part, and it doesn’t have to be. The first step is to check the box next to a game you want to bet on. The second step is to move to your bet slip and select your wager type – Straight, Parlay & Robin, If Bet & Reverse, or Teaser & Pleaser. This additional step feels weird, considering most books already have a one-step process built in, usually using simple tabs to navigate between bet types.
It doesn’t take long to get used to, of course, and the rest of the site is intuitive enough for me to overlook this little design quirk. I like that BetOnline makes it easy to click on the Cashier, Help, and other pages, and I found the site easy to get around in every aspect except for the betting slip feature.
Live Betting
I was impressed by the long list of markets and games available through BetOnline’s live betting interface. I’m not used to seeing so many live betting options at a North American-facing online sportsbook. At my last visit, the following markets were available to live bettors:

- Baseball (including semi-pro and Japanese league games)
- Tennis
- Soccer
Each event had at least a dozen available bets, except basketball, which was in Summer League play when I wrote this. The Live Betting section’s interface and bet slip design perfectly imitate the full site’s navigation details and color scheme, so transitioning from static bets to live betting is seamless and intuitive.

This crypto-currency is becoming a popular way for US customers to deposit to betting sites, since it isn’t controlled by the same rules as other financial methods. It’s also a highly-adaptable method, since you can deposit between $20 and $3,500 at a time with no added fee.
• Skrill / Neteller
eWallet deposits are a favorite of BetOnline – they charge no fee for them, make special bonus offers available to eWallet depositors, and feature them heavily on their cashier page. BetOnline Withdrawal Methods
Eight withdrawal methods are available, though not all are available to US customers:
• Person to Person
Use Western Union or MoneyGram to deposit between $50 and $600. Fees apply.
• Bank wire
An expensive and difficult way to receive a withdrawal, bank wire payouts range from $500 to $24,900.
• Check by Mail/Courier
Americans’ most common payout method is receiving a check by mail or courier. These payouts are limited to between $500 and $2,500. All customers get one free check payout per month; after that, checks require a $30 fee.
• Bitcoin
If you made a deposit via Bitcoin, you can receive a payout of between $20 and $3,500 via the same method. No fees apply on BetOnline’s end, though you may pay currency exchange fees in some markets.
• Skrill / Neteller
If you made an eWallet deposit, you can use the same method for a payout. Payouts are limited to between $25 and $9,900.
